  • Audited a Space Medicine course at UCSF School of Medicine

Outside of the clinic, I bring the same curiosity and drive to adventure that I bring to my therapy sessions. I’ve thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail from Tennessee to Maine, biked from the Sierra foothills to Crater Lake, and swum from Alcatraz to San Francisco in January. All very slowly! I also enjoy ceramics and value the creativity and fine motor control involved in shaping something by hand. These experiences reinforce my belief in resilience, adaptability, and the joy of movement—principles that guide my therapeutic approach. I make an effort to connect with other upper extremity experts when I travel, and have the pleasure of spending time with surgeons and therapists in Argentina, Kenya, and Mexico.

I hold an undergraduate degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a minor in Spanish. My graduate training emphasized interdisciplinary collaboration, including projects with students in industrial design, architecture, and fashion design students. I served as program director for a community-based mental health nonprofit supporting Jewish seniors. After graduation, I studied medical Spanish in the Dominican Republic and later worked in post-earthquake Haiti with individuals living with HIV and TB.
